The Platinum Izumo Yokoajiro Torafudake, is woven in a traditional "yokoajiro" pattern. The bamboo has a natural mottled pattern and is finished with an Urushi top layer to preserve its aesthetic appeal. The down side of the body is threated so the cap can be posted in a nice way. This pen has an 18 kt gold nib and can be used with ink cartridges or a converter.
The Platinum Yokoajiro Torafudake fountain pen features the natural spots characteristic of torafudake (tiger bamboo). The peculiar design of torafudake bamboo is produced by bacteria called torafukin. The mottled pattern of this type of bamboo has been very popular since the Edo period.
